New Horizons & Coronavirus

Being homebound while living with an abusive partner is going to be unsafe for many of our clients. We are committed to keeping all of our clients safe and informed during this difficult time.

However, due to the nature of COVID-19, we have had to make some adjustments to our services. Please continue reading to see how this may impact you.

We remain available 24/7 at (860) 344-9599.

An advocate will answer your call, discuss a safety plan with you, talk about any questions or concerns you may have, and provide emotional support.

You can also reach out to Safe Connect at 1-888-774-2900 or at https://ctsafeconnect.com/.

Right now our shelter is at capacity. We will continue to do everything we can to assist you in any other way we can.

We are now offering individual counseling and meetings with our advocates via the videoconference platform Zoom or by phone. Our support groups are now meeting on Zoom as well. This is in order to protect the health of our advocates and of our clients. Give us a call at (860) 344-9599 to learn more. We are still providing assistance with the Courts as needed.

Looking for a way to help? We can always use monetary or gift card (Uber/Lyft, Stop & Shop/Aldi’s/other grocery stores, Wal Mart, or CVS/Walgreens) donations.
